In My Home Dog Minding is an alternative to boarding kennels for people who want a more personal, caring service.

Your dog lives in my home as if it were their own home. I keep them safe, happy and loved.

That love and care is my point of of difference. Whether your dog is staying for one night or several weeks, they will receive top-quality care day and night.

Holistic approach

Not all dogs or their owners like boarding kennels. In My Home Dog Minding has for 20 years provided a successful service based on in home care. Dogs and their owners love this caring and holistic service.

Special needs dogs

Special needs dogs can be catered for – for instance those with special diets, or health problems that require daily medications (heart issues, diabetes, epilepsy, to name just a few).

Puppies to seniors

I have the skills and experience to care for every dog, from young ones to elders. Senior dogs have a special place in my heart.

Fair costs

Pricing

Overnight (per night)

  • Small Dogs (under 15kgs) — $60
  • Medium Dogs (15-25kgs) — $70
  • Large Dogs (25-35kgs) — $80
  • Extra Large (35kgs and over) — $90

Payment is to be made at the beginning of the boarding period by cash or bank transfer.

Day care (per day)

  • $50 per day (per dog)

Drop-off after 7am and pick-up by 7pm.

Payment in advance or when dropping off.

Extended stays

Please contact me regarding prices for stays of 8 weeks or more.

Surcharges

There are NO surcharges for public holidays or school holidays.

There are NO charges for any medications that need to be administered.

All food is included in the cost of your dog’s stay.

Pick up/ drop off service (boarding only)

I run a pick-up / drop-off service to Palmerston North and Wellington.

It is subject to availability and normally between the hours of 10am – 2pm.

Closer to the time of your booking I will advise you approximately what time I will be there.

Sometimes I may need to pick up a day or two early or drop back a day or two later — in which case, any extra nights are totally free.

Pick up / drop off prices

  • Palmerston North — $50 (each trip)
  • Wellington — $80 (each trip)

If you prefer to personally drop-off your dog, you are very welcome to make the trip to my place. I’ll look forward to meeting you and showing you around the In My Home Dog Minding set-up.

Helpful tips for our guests

All dogs must be social with other dogs.
All dogs must have an up-to-date C5 vaccination (a copy of the certificate must be provided at the start of the boarding period), and be desexed and toilet trained.
No diggers or fence jumpers, thank you.
Any medications or flea/heartworm treatments must be provided where necessary.
Your dog’s bed or a blanket would be appreciated. A familiar smell helps them to settle in the first few nights.
Please do not bring any toys because they tend to get destroyed within five minutes!
